Biography

With over 30 years of ministry experience, Dr. Rennae de Freitas has dedicated her life to ministries of compassion and justice through the local church, focusing on community flourishing in the developing world. Here at Nelson University, in addition to teaching responsibilities, she is a faculty sponsor for the Student Missions Association and has also served as faculty sponsor for Women in Ministry. She and her husband are appointed Assemblies of God World Missionaries (AGWM) who spent 20 years serving in the Dominican Republic, where Dr. de Freitas helped found an anti-trafficking NGO. Today, they serve together as representatives for ChildHope, a ministry network providing church-based education for children born into poverty. Dr. de Freitas is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God.
