5 Reasons You Should Come to Campus Days

Want to get to know Nelson University? There’s no better opportunity than Campus Days!

Campus Days is a free, overnight event for high school students and prospective students up to age 23. Guests stay in dorms, attend classes, join campus events like the Block Party and late‑night worship, and get a real look at life at Nelson. 

It’s your chance to experience what it means to be a student and what your future could look like as a Nelson Lion! If you need a few reasons to convince your parents, or if you’re still deciding yourself, we’ve got you covered.

1.     Attend Class with Current Nelson Students

If you’ve ever wondered what a real college class looks like, at Campus Days you’ll get the chance to meet real professors and sit in on a lecture of your choosing. Following class, join us for the chapel where one of Nelson’s very own students will be speaking. It’s a great way to see a student’s day at Nelson University in action!

2.     Stay On Campus in a Dorm

Get a real glimpse of on‑campus life: what it feels like to stay in a dorm, hang out, and spend time with other students. This is your first chance to see what your future room might look like and experience more than a tour by actually staying with current students. You’ll get an authentic feel for dorm living, create memories that stick, and who knows… you might even meet your future roommate.

3.     Experience Student Life at the Block Party

 Meet student organizations, connect with new friends at Nelson’s Block Party, our big welcome‑to‑campus celebration. The event brings together campus groups, music, games, and Waxahachie favorites like Bloom and Pour Coffee so you can get a feel for the community you’re joining. Whether you’re exploring activities, talking with local businesses, or just enjoying campus life, the Block Party has something for everyone.

4.     Go to Late-Night Worship  

At campus days, you’ll get to experience (my personal favorite) late-night worship with our very own Nelson Worship! Have a meaningful chance to come together with current and future students and experience what Nelson University is all about, and one of the moments that makes Nelson special.  

5.     Meet Future Classmates and Nelson Lions

Community is so important at Nelson. By coming to Campus Days, you’ll no longer have to imagine what it means to be a Nelson Lion. You’ll get to have dinner with current students who are there to answer all the questions you have and explore your future major at our academic fair. Have real conversations and get to know the students that make Nelson home!
