Waxahachie, Texas – June 9, 2017 – The Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) has announced 53 student-athletes have earned their spot on the 2016-17 Academic All-Conference Women’s Basketball team as presented by Cypress Risk Management. The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) women’s basketball team has six student-athletes making the list.

The six SAGU Lady Lions to make the cut are as follows: Freshman Korede Ahmedu (Lagos, Nigeria), sophomore Kayla Bise (Plano, Texas), senior Alexis McAfee (DeSoto, Texas), sophomore Kaynee McLeod (Mansfield, Texas), senior Charity Page (Nacogdoches, Texas) and freshman Lexi Rich (San Antonio, Texas).

To be eligible for the SAC Academic All-Conference team, students must be at least a sophomore and maintain a minimum 3.25 GPA during the previous two semesters and are regulars (letter winners) on their respective team.

Each of the SAC’s 10 institutions had at least one selection with John BrownUniversity having the most with nine.

Cypress Risk Management, based in Omaha, Neb, is an insurance agency that specializes in providing customized solutions for collegiate student health and athletic accident insurance. The organization currently insures over 500,000 students nationwide and is already engaged with several other NAIA conferences in similar type of partnerships.
