WAXAHACHIE, Texas (Aug. 25, 2026) – After a complete summer transformation, Nelson University’s campus store has officially reopened as Judah’s Outfitters, a redesigned retail destination created to help students, alumni, faculty, staff, and fans show up in style. 

What was once primarily a bookstore has been reimagined into a modern campus merchandise store stocked with Nelson essentials.

For Store Manager Margaret Taylor, who has seen the store evolve over the years, the transformation is unlike anything before: “I’ve been a part of Nelson for 5 years, managing the bookstore, and have witnessed many changes in the store, but none as dramatic as our new store.”

The result is more than a refreshed space. It is a completely new shopping experience designed for the Nelson community.

“When I was the bookstore manager back in 2011 to 2014, it was always my dream that one day the campus store would be located in the center of our campus,” said Senior Director for Operations Landon Orrill. “Two years ago, that dream became a reality thanks to Dean Katie White, who at the time was the senior director of business services. Now, fast forward to today, we’ve taken it to another level by transforming our campus bookstore into a spirit store that is truly all about Nelson University.”

The space has been fully reconstructed and redesigned to create a brighter, more inviting atmosphere. Modern displays, updated layouts, and an expanded selection of merchandise make it easier than ever to find something that reflects your connection to Nelson University.

The renovation opens the door to an even better campus experience, including an easier way to get textbooks. 

Course materials will now be purchased online and shipped to Judah’s Outfitters for pick-up or to another address.  This gives the refreshed store even more space for better apparel options and provides a more seamless ordering experience.

Landon Orrill shares his hope for the future of Judah’s Outfitters: “From the evident school colors to the branded merchandise to our new name honoring our beloved Judah, we hope that this newly remodeled and rebranded store will not only bring in new revenue for our University but also elevate and inspire more Lion spirit across our campus and the community.
