WAXAHACHIE, Texas (November. 3, 2026) – Nelson University will host a special Veterans Day Chapel on November 11, 2026, honoring veterans and recognizing the service, sacrifice, and dedication of those who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

Please join us in the Sheaffer Center on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at 10:15 a.m. as we honor all current and former service members.

The chapel will welcome veterans from the Nelson community, including alumni who have served in the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, National Guard, and Reserves.

“Veterans Day is an opportunity to pause and recognize the men and women who have answered the call to serve, often at great personal sacrifice. As a Christian university, we have a unique opportunity to honor their service while reflecting on the biblical principles of sacrifice, servant leadership, and our responsibility to something greater than ourselves,” said Veterans Day chapel keynote speaker and retired U.S. Army chaplain Maj. Dr. Jason Forte.

Veterans Day is a time to recognize the people behind the uniforms. Service members have answered the call to serve, spending time away from their families, facing extraordinary challenges, and committing themselves to the well-being of others and the safety of our nation.

As a Christ-centered university, Nelson University encourages gratitude, character, and servant leadership. This Veterans Day Chapel reflects those values by creating space to honor veterans, learn from their experiences, and remember the lasting impact of their service.
