A Summer of Service, Song, and Surrender: Nelson Worship in Motion

This summer, Nelson Worship is on the move. They are carrying a message of hope, leading worship in new spaces, and investing in lives far beyond the Nelson University campus. Through rehearsals that sharpen their craft, chapel services that unite the campus, and a travel schedule that stretches them into churches and communities around the globe, students are stepping into a season defined by obedience and impact.

What makes this ministry unique isn’t just what happens on stage—it’s the intentional preparation and willingness behind the scenes. Each rehearsal is more than practice; it’s a space where students are formed, where hearts are aligned, and where a simple “yes” continues to open doors for God to work.

For many students, Nelson Worship is shaping both their ministry and their personal walk with the Lord. As Jenasis Cabbab, class of 2027, shares:

“Nelson Worship has become a family where God has continually shaped my heart. Through rehearsals, chapel services, and traveling I have seen how God can use a simple ‘yes’ to make an eternal impact. These experiences have stretched me and taught me to depend on the Holy Spirit. Nelson Worship has deepened my passion for the Lord in whatever and wherever He asks me.”

In chapel, Nelson Worship continues to lead the campus in unified praise, creating moments where students and staff come together in expectation. These gatherings are not just part of the weekly schedule; they are opportunities to cultivate a consistent posture of worship that carries into every other setting.

Through travel, Nelson Worship students are stepping into churches, camps, and ministry environments where every setting looks different and every opportunity calls for dependence on God. Each trip becomes a chance to serve, to lead, and to see God move in unexpected ways.

Natalie Ware, class of 2027, explains:

“Traveling with Nelson Worship has been one of the most impactful experiences of my college journey. I have grown mentally, relationally, and most importantly, spiritually as I have learned to rely on God. Each trip has strengthened my faith and equipped me to lead and serve others more effectively.”

Nelson Worship is shaping students into adaptable leaders—people who are learning to carry worship wherever they go and to trust God in unfamiliar places. Whether leading a congregation for the first time or ministering to a new community, they are discovering that God’s presence is not limited by location or circumstance.

Alongside these visible moments of ministry, there is also a quieter, ongoing investment happening—one rooted in relationships and long-term impact. Students and leaders alike are learning to value faithfulness over recognition, trusting that what God is doing often extends beyond what they can immediately see.

As Manny Franco, class of 2027, describes:

“As a Leader for Nelson Worship I’ve learned I’ll never know the fruit of my efforts—we may never see [students] again. But, our investments do not go to waste… Invest in the students and love on them because you never know the impact it could make.”

That perspective shapes the way Nelson Worship approaches every rehearsal, every chapel, and every trip this summer. It’s not about filling a schedule—it’s about being faithful with each opportunity to serve and to lead others into God’s presence.

With every song, every step, and every “yes,” students are learning that ministry is not confined to a moment—it’s a lifestyle of obedience that follows wherever God leads.
