Payment Plan & Down Payments

Students who cannot pay their bill in full at the time of registration have the option to use a Payment Plan. For a fee of $100, students can make monthly payments throughout the semester. The deferred payment plan is selected during registration using the link in the MyNelson student portal.

Plans vary based on the semester a student is enrolled in and how early registration is completed prior to the start of the semester. See the charts below for more information.

All students are required to complete a down payment when enrolling. Scroll to the bottom of the page to learn more.   

*Please note: There will be a 2.85% service fee assessed for payments made by debit/credit card, including online & in-person payments.

Fall Semesters:

For the fall semester, students can sign up for different monthly payment plan options and choose when they want their first monthly payment to be due. The required down payment can be covered by financial aid. Whatever amount is not covered by financial aid will be split into equal monthly payments due throughout the semester. *Down Payments

The down payment is based on the type of student and whether they are enrolling full time or less than full time. Down payments can be covered by a student’s financial aid. Here are the required down payments:

Students who enroll less than full time = 1/3 of total semester charges is the down payment

  • Full-time students who take their classes on campus = $3,500 down payment
  • Full-time online and graduate students: $1,500 down payment
  • Students who enroll less than full time = 1/3 of total semester charges is the down payment
