Nelson University Responds to University of Valley Forge Closure Announcement
WAXAHACHIE, Texas, July 31, 2026 — Today, we are praying for the University of Valley Forge community.
We think of the students whose educational plans have been disrupted, the families navigating unexpected decisions, and the faculty and staff who have faithfully invested their lives in shaping students through Christ-centered higher education.
The closure of Valley Forge represents a significant loss for Christian higher education. It is a loss felt not only by those directly connected to the institution, but by many who value the transformative role faith-based universities play in preparing the next generation of leaders.
At Nelson University, we recognize the uncertainty many Valley Forge students may be experiencing right now. Questions about transferring credits, completing degrees, financial aid, housing, athletics, and plans can feel overwhelming when a chapter closes unexpectedly.

Nelson University’s Commitment to Valley Forge Students
We understand that an unexpected university closure can create financial uncertainty. Nelson University is here to help University of Valley Forge students continue their education with confidence through a variety of financial support opportunities:
- UVF Scholarship: $3,000 per semester for on-campus students
- Academic Scholarship: Minimum $2,500 per semester for on-campus students, with the potential for higher awards based on transfer GPA
- Reduced Online Tuition: $325 per credit hour for eligible online students
- Federal Financial Aid: Access to federal grants, loans, and other aid through the FAFSA
- Additional Scholarships & Grants: UVF students may apply for other Nelson scholarships and institutional aid opportunities
- Free Application: Apply to Nelson University using code “UVF” to waive the application fee
- Enrollment Deposit Waiver: The $150 enrollment deposit will be waived for eligible students
