How much does one semester at Nelson cost?

Does Nelson offer deferred payment plans?

What payment methods does Nelson accept?

Nelson accepts all traditional methods of payment including cash, check, credit/debit card*, tap to pay, money order, cashier’s check, bank bill pay (mailed check), 529 payments, and more! Internationally, payments are accepted through Flywire.

*All credit and debit card transactions made at the cashier’s window and online incur a 2.85% convenience fee.

Where can I check my balance?

Log in to your myNelson student portal and navigate to Admin > My Ledger tab.

Does Nelson accept military/veteran’s benefits?

*Please note: Nelson is a private university and therefore cannot accept Hazelwood Act.

What is a book voucher and how does it work?

Students can charge up to $500 at the Nelson Bookstore to their billing ledger for required books and supplies. Because book vouchers are optional, they will be available for use after the student has approved their bill.

What is Lion Learning, and why was it added to my bill?

Lion Learning items are digital books and other materials needed for your classes, these are charged to student ledgers after the 2nd week of classes, if a student does not opt-out. If you have any questions about charges related to Lion Learning, the opt-out time period, or would like more information, please contact the Nelson Bookstore, [email protected].

Why doesn’t my financial aid show on my ledger? When will financial aid be applied to my bill?

All financial aid is disbursed within two weeks of the semester start date. Before that time, it is considered pending and will only appear on the financial aid tab of myNelson portal.

If I have to withdraw from a class, will I get a refund?

Refunds for tuition, room, and board, are issued following a schedule. Fees are non-refundable. To see the refund schedule and learn more, visit this page.

Where can I locate my 1098-T?

The 1098-T will be available by January 30th, digitally in the myNelson portal. Select Document Tracking from the dropdown menu in the myNelson portal. Then, make sure the Completed Items box is checked. The 1098-T will appear in the list of documents. Click on the blue IMG link next to it to download it.

What is FAFSA and who should apply?

If you apply and are eligible for FAFSA, Free Application for Federal Student Aid, you can receive financial aid to help reduce the cost of your bill! Learn more by visiting the FAFSA page.

Who can answer questions about scholarships, loans, or a financial award letter?

If you have questions about when your scholarship is coming in, if your loan has been approved, or what is on your award letter, those questions are best addressed by their department. Please contact the Financial Aid office at [email protected] or call 972-825-4630.
